On this International Women’s Day, I thought I’d re-post an article from last year on the http://haitifunrun.com blog and give a big “Thank You” to Laura for all of the great work she’s doing to help the people of Haiti!
More on Laura and GMLG
As many of you know, I made a week-long trip (made famous by the World Wide Technology National Sales Meeting tasty Goat story!) over the Christmas holidays to visit Laura and bring some supplies. Here’s a link to some photos I took: https://plus.google.com/photos/111640877475265653062/albums/5694345735687031729?authkey=CMumr93d962smQE
- I can tell you first hand that Laura is an amazing young lady who has dedicated her life, along with Beno and Wilto, to physically and spiritually helping the children and families in this remote Haitian village.
In one short week I witnessed Laura cook, feed many children, pray-with, sing beautifully, be a nurse to several villagers and their ailments, pay for a young lady’s medical care out of Laura and Beno’s “10%” fund, organize a village wide soccer match, skillfully hand out just the right kind/fit of donated clothes to the children after Sunday services; meet with schoolteachers; visit very poor villagers who needed some financial help from the ministry and a lot more.
“Faith, Hope and Love…and the greatest of these is Love.”
I attended a fantastic Sunday morning service lead by Beno. His sermon was about “Faith, Hope and Love.” In one short week, I saw first hand Laura’s deep Christian faith and her unfailing hope and dreams for a better future all delivered with the greatest love to the people of Bel Vie.
